Racing Personalities We Have Lost
Compiled from cemetery records and personal information.
So far, mostly Perth metropolitan records are included, as country details are not on-line. Many well-known motor racing personalities were from the country, and details will be added as time permits.
There have been only two fatalities in motor car road racing in Western Australia, both at Caversham. Mick Geneve crashed his Corvette Spl during a race in 1959, and Don Walters died a week after he rolled his MG at Bugatti Bend in 1956. He was doing pre-race mandatory observed laps, which were needed for him to be eligible to take part in practicing and qualifying for his first race.
